Due to weather (staff driving distances) and family items going on this Sunday we are very short staffed. We apologize to those who had to and are still experiencing longer than average wait times. We are sorry.

We feel everyone should come for Prime Rib and eggs for breakfast as their last meal before snowmagedon hits...we want everyone to be well fed to survive the rest of the weekend.
We have been around long enough that we really consider our guests and friends to be family. Unfortunately, over the past couple of weeks we have been receiving news of unfortunate and in some cases unforeseen tragedies for our Lake Placid Family. With all the sad news coming in and all of the heart break so many have been dealing with, we just wanted to take a moment and say we are sorry for your loses being experienced and our condolences go out to you. We have been serving some of your families for over 30 years and for most of you we have your food cooking before you sit down. We hurt like you do when we hear about your families experiencing difficult times. This is a small world, and whether you all know each other or not, you are all bound tightly together by one thing, and that is Lake Placid. We hope that your loved ones who have moved on, have found peace and we hope that in their passing they can all find each other at the same breakfast table to exchange their stories and memories of Lake Placid over food and bloodies. We don’t need to mention names, you all know who you are, we hope to see everyone soon and hope to get some good news along the way. Take care everyone
The roads aren’t plowed that well so maybe hop on your sled and take a drive because we are open!
Due to weather AND everyone else taking mother nature’s hints, we are following suit and CLOSING 1/30 and 1/31 but will be open again Friday 2/1/19. Stay inside, don’t go out, and cook your own food...or wait until Friday, then we will feed you.

The 1 percenters!!!!! Good Morning faithful Lake Placid Nation, we hope all are well, and enjoying the fact that it is Labor Day Weekend! We wanted to start everyone’s day with a wonderful 1 star review that we found especially great. We feel there is no need for comments especially about someone who writes only 1 star reviews even when a business (the second picture not our business) acknowledges their lack of customer service for the day AND comps not only dessert BUT the drinks. You said the food was good in both cases? Yet that is deserving a 1 star? You didn’t bring up anything at the table or complain while here to get free food, to bad, we would have told you how life is to short to not laugh and have a good time. Maybe you need a hug, we could give you a free hug! Anyway, have a good laugh, be good, be kind and enjoy your day! P.S. 62 Days Until November
These “locals” don’t seem so local if they think we can’t handle a 40% room capacity. Did you sign in? Did you get drinks? Did you attempt conversing or just float around with a chip on your shoulder based on the title of your review? Side note, at 7:40 pm there have been people working at the restaurant since 6:30am, so math tells us that this is a long day, usually with only one person on the floor for Friday night, gruff is the nature of the beast, you clearly haven’t enjoyed the humor for 15 years so why keep coming? We love constructive criticism to attempt to improve ourselves (using a different review we found to improve as we speak), however, with no details about anything from your experience or meal how could we even think about trying to be better let alone take your keyboard commander review seriously? We have been averaging 180-200 people on Fridays since the end of June for breakfast and another 100+ for fish fry (ask locals and regulars they will tell you), maybe we were busy and you didn’t want to wait? Oh well...can’t change without the proper information....we are also thrilled to find out you didn’t starve on July 16 which is a Monday...not a Friday so was “this” Friday the 13 or the 20? Are you from the future?!?!? These are questions that keep us up at night....86 days until November.....

Snow!!!
We would like to report and are happy to announce that that it’s snowing!
****Contest Time***** Ice Out Contest Rules: Comment the date you think ALL of the ice will be out of North Lake Placid. The winner will be picked with the closest date to the day. We will select the person who picked the correct date by their comment time and date stamp, so, the earliest comment with the correct answer wins. The runners up (up to max of 10 only) will also be rewarded. Film was shot on April 10, 2018 at 1030 near the center of the lake. The Lake is approximately 50 acres and gets a good amount of sun. Remember to watch the coming weather for the most accurate predictions. Prize: First Place, $25 Gift Certificate AND a loaf of bread The next 10 correct answers after the first place winner will receive a loaf of bread. ****Since the contest was created from the comment by Judy Awe, she will have her date locked in at May 29 from her comment in our previous post.***** Good Luck
